News Release AEP Retiree Honored
Fairfield Medical Center received a grant of $150 from American Electric Power in honor of AEP retiree Rich Woods’ significant volunteer service at Fairfield Medical Center.
Rich Woods has been a volunteer at Fairfield Medical Center for four years. He dedicates his time to the Pet Therapy Program. “Rich is one in a million, he is a great volunteer that we are proud of and cannot say enough about his dedication to the Center and his hard working personality,” Heidi Reed, Community Services Coordinator, commented when asked about Rich’s volunteerism. “On behalf of Fairfield Medical Center, I can say that we are very pleased to accept the $150 check from AEP. What a great program to recognize AEP retirees making a difference in our community.” The grant money will be used for the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation Volunteer Fund.
The AEP Connects program recognizes the commitment of AEP employees and retirees to their communities and supports causes that are important to them, according to Michael G. Morris, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. More than 940 grants were made company-wide last year representing more than 124,000 volunteer hours donated by AEP employees and retirees and their families.
“Although no monetary grant can compare to the value of the time our employees and retirees give to worthwhile causes, the $150 grants made by this program in the names of AEP volunteers will help schools and nonprofit organizations meet the challenges of fulfilling important human needs,” Morris said.
