Port Authority
The Fairfield County Port Authority is a stand-alone legal entity governed by a nine-member board of directors whose purpose is to enhance, foster, and aid in economic development projects through a number of tools at its disposal, primarily sales tax exemptions.
Recent Projects
In 2022, the Fairfield County Port Authority assisted Tenby Partners with the development of a 209,000 square foot industrial facility in the city of Canal Winchester, Fairfield County, Ohio. Using a Sales Tax exemption, the Port was able to leverage significant sales tax savings for the developer which helped offset rising construction costs.
In 2023, the Fairfield County Port Authority assisted DHL with the development of a 755,000 square foot industrial facility in Violet Township, Fairfield County, Ohio. Once again, the Port was able to utilize sales tax savings, benefiting the developer while improving transportation and safety infrastructure for future development activity.
